METEORS
METEORS is a completely original game that was initially finished in 3 days.
(Now it has gotten a bit more of development time to update it)
SHOOT, DODGE, UPGRADE, SURVIVE!
Currently it is still on development but feel free to try it! If you have any feedback feel free to leave a comment.
How to play
Controls
- Use
to move - Use mouse to aim
- Use left click to shoot
- Use right click to shoot a bomb
Gameplay
Shoot meteors to get POINTS, destroying meteors may also lead to them dropping something, make sure to collect those UPGRADES or bomb refills. The difficulty will continue to ramp up exponentially, try to get the highest score you can before you ultimately PERISH.
(Might also illustrate this sections with gifs eventually)
UPGRADES
- r: fire rate

- f: damage
(stands for fire power) - s: max speed

- a: acceleration

- d : deceleration

- b: bomb damage

- c: bomb carrying capacity

Version d1.0
- Base game a "d" denoting it is in development stage.
Version d1.1
- Features:
- Added sound effects.
- Reworked bombs to explode on contact.
- Added version text.
- Added collectibles! (This includes upgrades and bombs to restock).
- This led to the main player getting nerfed to the ground but it now can reach further when maxed out!
- Added upgrade side bar, for now it is filled with letters, later on I'll do icons.
- Adjusted difficulty to offer a more interesting challenge at first and hypothetically go on forever but with exponential difficulty growth that should lead to even the most dedicated of players to losing eventually.
- Adjusted collision and knockback systems so now meteors running into each other feel much better and lead to meteors staying on screen for longer.
- Added JUICE (game juice, not drinkable juice sadly).
- Fixes:
- Lots of refactoring that cost me a lot but players will never appreciate...
- Fixed bugs, tons of 'em, yet no one will never notice...
- Future version patch notes will explain in more detail fixes, this version was done with very little organization still.
Version d1.2
- Features:
- Everything is pixel perfect!
- Added custom sprite rotations for players and bullets
- Meteor particles no longer rotate in engine
- Added custom cursor
- Added a zoom effect when you loose
- Everything is pixel perfect!
- Fixes:
- To pair with custom sprites some things have been moved around to guarantee pixel perfect sprites.
- Fix some internal issues that should lead to a slight increase in performance, but it' will probably be unnoticeable for most people.
- 1.2.1 patch:
- Added custom boot splash screen.
